Whitchurch vs Canton II

  Whitchurch continued to show huge improvement with a 9 try demolition of Canton 2nds in C&DRU division 2.
Cantons afternoon began on a disastrous note when one of their front row saw red over a disagreement with the referee.
Whitchurch had started the stronger of the two sides before the dismissal and had actually crossed twice through captain Steve Bale with both touchdowns.
Although with a man advantage Whitchurch had already secured forward dominance with driving runs from Ben Sperandeo, Steve Bale and Jamie Bancroft.
Whitchurch continued to penetrate the Canton defence with probing runs from Dan Hobbs and George Wooten
Following one such surge captain Bale barged over for his third touchdown in the first 40.
Canton tried to stem the tide but Whitchurch were relentless with James Powell touching down following a scintillating run.
The second half brought now relief for Canton as Whitchurch dominated position and ran wide at every opportunity.
Camped on the Canton line prop Steve Hembury crashed over.
Further trys followed from centre Mark Lloyd following great work by the forwards and then hooker Lewis Griffiths superbly supporting his captain strolled over for his first club try.
Canton rallied but further Whitchurch pressure resulted in two more trys the final one capping a remarkable performance and afternoon for Steve Bale taking his tally to four.
The referee then brought the game to its end at Whitchurch 53, Canton 2nds 0
